I pushed a change for the Color Kit in https://github.com/ThingPulse/esp8266-weather-station-color/commit/2133809f99861e4c17d33db6979804b67cf641f1. Something similar should be done for the ESPaper Weather Station.

No it’s not the same thing because sometime it gets the right data other times not. Also the time stamp in the upper left always say 9:00

I have noticed that the unit doesn't always get the correct date and time for me. You will see this because the time always is set at 9:00 when this happens. I assume that is what is causing your moon icon problem.

BTW: I have had one running for over three weeks on the same charge.I am loving the ESP8266 DeepSleep capability.

Yes that is exactly what I do see. I have the color version of this project and it does not have the same problem. I guess there is no fix for this?
