Using a different Waveshare screen on 29." ESPaper kit

I recently purchased the 2.9" ESPaper Plus Kit and, as a total n00b to this, just wanted to know what I need to change/add in order to get a slightly bigger version of the Waveshare screen to work.. such as this one:

The supporting electronics components (resistors, transistors, etc.) on our board are specific for a particular display. Hence, it is unlikely you will find other EPDs (e-paper display) that will fit plug&play into this module.

However, Waveshare sells a universal E-Paper Driver HAT the allows to communicate to a number of their displays over SPI. With some tinkering and precision soldering you may be able to connect that hat directly to the ESP8266 SPI interface.
